Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why should I hire an inspection before buying machinery in China?

Buying machinery remotely involves relying on information provided by third parties. An independent inspection allows you to know the observed condition of the equipment before investing, reducing risks and facilitating a better-informed purchasing decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of the most common questions about our machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle inspection services in China.

If you do not find the answer you are looking for here, you can contact our team directly.

¿What type of machinery can We inspect?

We currently conduct inspections of a wide variety of heavy machinery and industrial equipment, including:

  • Excavators

  • Loaders

  • Bulldozers

  • Backhoe loaders

  • Skid steer loaders

  • Mobile cranes

  • Crawler cranes

  • Tower cranes

  • Telescopic handlers

  • Forklifts

  • Compactor rollers

  • Pavers

  • Asphalt milling machines

  • Dump trucks and tipper trucks.

  • Mixer trucks

  • Concrete pumps

  • Drilling machines.

  • Pile driving machines

  • Stone crushers

  • Other equipment, subject to evaluation and confirmation.

We can also evaluate requests related to vehicles and other industrial equipment.

¿Where do they carry out the inspections?

We currently provide our services mainly in:

  • Hefei

  • Shanghái

  • Nearby cities, depending on availability.

If the machinery is located in another part of China, please contact us.

We will assess the distance, availability of inspectors, logistics, and associated costs to determine if we can fulfill the request.

¿What does the inspection include?

Cada inspección se adapta al tipo de maquinaria y a las condiciones de acceso autorizadas por el propietario.

Depending on the service contracted, the inspection may include:

  • Brand and model identification.

  • Verification of serial number.

  • Hour meter recording.

  • General visual inspection.

  • Review of accessible components.

  • Measurements when applicable.

  • Functionality tests when possible and authorized.

  • Photographic record.

  • Videos when possible.

  • Observations on the general condition.

  • Identification of limitations found during the inspection.

  • Professional technical report in PDF format.

The exact scope will be indicated in the corresponding quote.

Does the inspection include disassembling components?

Not

Standard inspections are primarily visual and functional.

We do not perform disassemblies, destructive tests, internal engine diagnostics, laboratory tests, or other specialized procedures unless previously agreed upon and can be performed safely.

¿Can I participate during the inspection?

Yes.

Cuando las condiciones lo permitan y haya sido coordinado previamente, podemos realizar una videollamada para que usted observe parte de la inspección en tiempo real.

The availability of this option will depend on the connection, site conditions, owner restrictions, and the characteristics of the inspection.

What happens if the seller or owner does not allow the inspection?

If the seller or owner denies access to the machinery, cancels the visit, or prevents the inspection from being conducted, we will document the situation and communicate with the client.

Depending on the circumstances, we may offer:

  • Reschedule the inspection.

  • Use the payment or balance for another inspection.

  • Evaluate a refund, deducting the expenses actually incurred when applicable.

The specific conditions are found in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

The owner's refusal to allow an inspection will be reported to the client, but by itself will not be presented as evidence that the machinery has defects or is in poor condition.

Does the seller have to authorize the inspection?

Yes.

The machinery is under the control of the owner, seller, or responsible party at the location.

For this reason, we need to have access authorization to conduct the inspection.

We recommend that the client confirm in advance with the seller that they agree with the inspector's visit and the scope of the contracted inspection.

What happens if the seller changes the machine after the inspection?

The inspection represents the conditions observed on a specific date and time.

After our visit, the seller or owner may repair, modify, replace components, transport, or even replace the machinery.

HORÓMETRO INSPECTIONS GROUP LLC does not control the equipment after the inspection.

For this reason, if the client wants to ensure that the machinery to be loaded corresponds to the one that was inspected, we recommend hiring our service of Pre-loading Verification.

How can I ensure that the machine I bought is the same one that was inspected?

We recommend using our service of Pre-loading Verification.

During this process we can compare elements such as:

  • Serial number.

  • Make and model.

  • Hour meter.

  • Engine number when accessible.

  • Physical characteristics.

  • Photographs taken during the inspection.

  • Inspection code.

  • Other identifying elements.

When the owner authorizes it, we can also place a label or identification sticker related to the inspection.

Pre-loading verification is an additional service and must be contracted according to the corresponding quote.

What is Pre-loading Verification?

It is an additional service designed to check, before loading, that the equipment to be delivered for transport corresponds to the equipment previously inspected.

The goal is to increase traceability and reduce the risk of substitution or significant modifications between the inspection and the time of loading.

This service may include a new visit to the equipment and a comparison of the information and evidence obtained during the original inspection.

Can you also supervise the loading of the machinery?

Yes.

When the client contracts the service of Loading supervision, we can travel to the site to document the preparation and loading process of the machinery.

Depending on the contracted scope, we can verify:

  • Identity of the equipment.

  • Serial number.

  • Main characteristics.

  • Visual condition prior to loading.

  • Photographs.

  • Final position of the equipment.

  • Loading process.

Loading supervision is an additional service and can be contracted along with the inspection or later.

Does the inspection guarantee that the machine will not have failures?

Not

Our report only reflects the conditions observed during the inspection.

A professional inspection cannot guarantee the absence of hidden failures, internal defects, or problems that cannot be detected through the procedures performed.

It also does not constitute a guarantee regarding the future operation of the machinery.

Its purpose is to provide objective technical information to support the purchasing decision.

Is the information provided by the seller considered verified?

Not necessarily.

The information provided by the seller may be included in the report as a reference.

When a piece of data has been verified through observation, measurement, documentation, or some specific procedure, it will be indicated according to the scope of the inspection.

We will not present a seller's statement as a verified fact if we do not have sufficient evidence to do so.

How long does an inspection take?

The time may vary depending on:

  • Type of machinery.

  • Size and complexity of the equipment.

  • Location.

  • Contracted scope.

  • Site conditions.

  • Seller availability.

  • Tests that can be performed.

Once we receive the equipment information, we will inform you of the estimated time to coordinate the visit and deliver the report.

How long does it take to deliver the report?

The preparation time depends on the type of inspection, the amount of evidence collected, and the contracted scope.

The estimated delivery time will be indicated in the quote or confirmed during the service coordination.

¿How will I receive the report?

The report will be sent in PDF format by electronic means.

Depending on the contracted service, it may be accompanied by:

  • Photographs.

  • Videos.

  • Measurements.

  • Supplementary documentation.

  • Evidence related to the identification of the equipment.

Can I request additional photographs or videos?

Yes, as long as they are technically possible and within the contracted scope.

If the client requires additional photographs, videos, measurements, or verifications that exceed the initial scope, we can offer them as an additional service.

Can I request an urgent inspection?

We can evaluate urgent requests depending on the availability of our inspectors and the logistical conditions.

Urgent requests may be subject to special fees or conditions.

Availability will be confirmed before accepting the service.

What information do I need to request an inspection?

Ideally, we need:

  • Link to the ad or publication.

  • Brand.

  • Model.

  • Year, when available.

  • Serial number, if it appears in the publication.

  • Location of the machinery.

  • Name of the seller or company.

  • Contact information of the seller.

  • Any additional information that the client considers relevant.

With this information, we will be able to evaluate the request and prepare a quote.

¿How can I request an inspection?

You can contact us through our official channels and send us the available information about the machinery.

Our team will evaluate the request, confirm availability, and prepare the corresponding quote.

Once the quote is accepted and payment or agreed conditions are received, we will proceed with coordinating the visit.

When is the inspection scheduled?

The visit is scheduled after confirming:

  • Availability of HOUR METER.

  • Scope of the service.

  • Payment or agreed conditions.

  • Correct location of the equipment.

  • Seller or owner information.

  • Access to the machinery.

The final date will also depend on the availability of the seller or person responsible for the equipment.

¿What payment methods do you accept?

We have different payment alternatives to facilitate international operations.

The available methods may vary depending on the client's country, currency, payment provider, and the conditions in effect at the time of contracting.

The available means will be indicated during the quoting and contracting process.

¿What happens after receiving the report?

After receiving the report, the client will be able to review the evidence and documented observations.

If you have questions directly related to the results of the inspection performed, we will be available to clarify aspects related to our report.

If you later decide to proceed with the purchase and want to increase security regarding the identity of the equipment to be delivered, we recommend hiring the Pre-loading verification and, when applicable, the Loading supervision.
